Let's face it, the table football designed by the humanitarian organization Misereor has a most... exotic look!
The body, made of a pile of wooden planks, is supported by aged pipes and beams. The grip should be surprising at first glance given the "diversity" of the handles, both in terms of size and shape. Forget playing fields made of Gerflex or tempered glass, here sand reigns supreme and takes great pleasure in giving the ball surprising trajectories... It even has to make its way through the trees to finally land at the bottom of an old well... A real African football pitch in your living room! Made in Germany, you might think its fragility is only apparent...
But why create such a Frankenstein of table football? But to raise awareness among players and the general public about the humanitarian cause that Misereor defends: promoting sport among children in Rwanda and South Africa.
The principle is as simple as it is brilliant. Each game on this coin-operated table football costs 2 euros. The amount collected at the end of the day is donated in full to the association. If you own premises and would like to host an event, you are free to rent the beast. To make the initiative even more fun and friendly, Misereor has equipped its recycled table football with an Arduino system (camera and sensors) that records the performances and scores of each match and transmits them live on Facebook. Not bad for impressing your friends and showing them that you are aware...
The Afrika Kicker table football does not promise you an experience as intense as on a Roberto Sport Adrenaline ITSF table football, nor a game as fast as on a table football Roberto Sport Export black but simply a friendly and enriching moment placed under the sign of generosity.
