Designer baby foot: baby feet transformed into works of art for a good cause

This Friday, April 13, two "revamped" designer table football tables will be auctioned in Rouen to benefit the children of the University Hospital. Their unique feature: they were fully customized by Ecloz and Sophie Reulet, two local artists who are very talented when it comes to enhancing tables to create collector's items...

Operation "A table football table for the hospital"

These two design table football and colorful ones will be presented at the Hôtel de Bourgtheroule for an auction, the proceeds of which will be used for the "A table football table for the hospital" project, a project supported by the Rouen Métropole table football center and the Rouen University Hospital. The money raised will be used to purchase a foosball table for the pediatric cancer ward.

For Sebastien Lebourg, club president, the goal is more than ever to remind people of the values embedded by foosball:

Fossball is a shared activity that brings people together. From the dentist to the unemployed, everyone plays. It's a great tool to take their minds off things for young people who have a difficult daily life.

Two foosball tables, two worlds

table football design drawn by artists

If you're looking for an original table football - a unique piece - there's no doubt about it, Rouen is the place to be this Friday, April 13th.

The two artists given carte blanche redoubled their talent and explosiveness to bring these colorful and slightly eccentric playful works of art to life. It's obvious that each artist has their own little universe. Ecloz (aka Guillaume Vincent) is a graffiti artist familiar with urban wastelands and has already demonstrated the extent of his talent on the roof of the Théâtre des Arts. Sophie Reulet, a jewelry designer by training, also draws inspiration from the urban environment, notably with posters found in the street. For "a table football game in the hospital," she had to step outside her comfort zone:

I immediately agreed to embark on this project, even though I initially had no idea what I was going to do. Finally, when I saw this raw beech wood table, I thought of skin and something clicked.

Three weeks of work later, she delivered a retro foosball table evoking traditional tattooing and jewelry with the precision of a watchmaker:

This retro touch recalls my usual time-based work. It's a kind of jewelry, a beautiful object that we want to have.

It's impossible to argue with her on that point...

A foosball table in every hospital?

If the project is successful, other foosball tables could brighten up the daily lives of sick children. Workshops led by activity teams could also be created to allow young patients to decorate their own foosball tables.

Sebastien Lebourg doesn't intend to stop there and would also like to "set up a system like the Red Noses or the Yellow Pieces to finance the installation of foosball tables at different sites."

The two designer foosball tables from the project can be admired at the Matmut Contemporary Art Center until April 12. They will then be taken to the hotel at 3 p.m. and auctioned at 7 p.m.

Reserved bid: €1,800.
