While the battle isn't yet won, hope has just been reborn thanks to the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), which has given the green light for the submission of a bid for the Olympic Games.

This is the first step on a (very) long road to recognition! By receiving approval from the GAISF, table football is given the opportunity to submit an application for Paris 2024. Thanks to this approval, the discipline now benefits from provisional member status with the GAISF as well as a potential place on the list of Olympic disciplines, the same ones validated by the International Olympic Committee. But to become a regular member of the association and give table football the chance to become a new Olympic sport, the discipline will first have to structure itself as well as possible and put together a solid application that will convince the Committee. What if Paris 2024 revolutionized the Olympic Games? Pole dancing, arm wrestling, dodgeball, footgolf, poker, and kettlebell wrestling could also join the already long list of Olympic disciplines. When asked about the integration of esports into the Olympic Games, the Ministry of Sports responded: The program for the 2024 Games will be finalized at the time of the Tokyo Games in 2020. We want to use this period to build a unique program with the IOC that will mark the history of the Games and of sport. It is premature to comment on the program for the Paris 2024 Games at this time. Nothing is certain yet for all these new events, but what is certain is that a door has just opened. For France, this would be a guaranteed gold medal in the future, wouldn't it?
