It's a brilliant idea that J. Kim and his IT team at Ewha University in Seoul had: to create a virtual foosball that can be played like a real football player.
Named Foosball, this 2.0 game table is played using real handles but on a completely unique "2D" field.
Brilliantly combining "classic" foosball (with real telescopic handles) and arcade video games, Space Foosball offers a unique and authentic gameplay.
The game style is fast-paced. The responsiveness of the bars and the rotation of the handles are perfectly reproduced on the field. You'll find yourself performing great moves after just a few minutes of playing. To achieve this feat, J.Kim designed a real "physical" game engine combined with sensors placed in the bars to recreate this perfect interaction between the virtual and real worlds. The result is stunning.
The entirely virtual playing surface features graphics that pay homage to the video games of yesteryear. Guaranteed nostalgia for all retro gaming fans!
The only downside: the sound! We would have liked sound effects worthy of Super Mario, Space Invaders, or Donkey Kong to accompany each shot.
