A sport in its own right that promotes team spirit, sharing, and cohesion, table football is attracting businesses, hospitals, and, more recently, soccer clubs. In Isbergues (Pas-de-Calais), the Roupie club has added table football to the list of activities offered to very young players to introduce them to the game in a gentle and fun way.
Soccer and table football: same battle!
This season, the president of the Roupie football club, Gregory Caron, invested in the purchase of brand new children's table football. Reserved for young members between the ages of 2 and 5, these foosball sessions will now be designed to teach them the basics of team play by giving them a leg up.
"Some parents have asked us to set up an activity for children under 5. So this season, we're offering foosball for children aged 2 to 5 on Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The activity is run with parents so that the children feel comfortable. The sessions will include a welcome, motor skills exercises, and collaborative games.
It will also be an opportunity to make their first contact with the ball," explains the president.
