A high-tech foosball table designed like a video game
Three months before Euro 2016, Volkswagen has decided to bring the French closer together by reviving a legendary game. A successful bet: the German manufacturer's connected foosball table has nothing in common with the bar foosball tables of yesteryear! To bring this extraordinary table football to life, a 55-inch 4K flat screen, 5.1 speakers, and cameras replaced the traditional play mat.
Designed like a real arcade machine, the Volkswagen digital foosball table offers several game modes. It's possible to interact directly with the different parts of the table football table to move, enlarge, or shrink the goals, change the pitch slope or the number of players, reverse the controls... and even the scores! With this 2.0 foosball table, everything is possible with a simple touch of a finger!
And just as a video game would be nothing without its vibrating controller, the table football's handles feature technology that reproduces every movement in real life. For the team, you can choose between France 58, France 86, or France 98.
"Proud to be a French national!"
"Inciting collective enthusiasm and being proud to be a French national" is the concept's raison d'être. For Volkswagen, this table football is not only a way to bring the French closer together, but also to illustrate how far we've come from the bar foosball tables of yesterday to today's connected objects. To this end, the Volkswagen table football proudly sports a vintage and minimalist design copied from models of yesteryear.
