From October 11, 2017, to February 4, 2018, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (Mucem) is offering an impressive football exhibition featuring several hundred works, objects, and photos, all steeped in culture and history. When will there be an exhibition on the table football?

Paris, Algiers, Malaga, Athens, Istanbul... there's not a place in the Mediterranean that doesn't thrill to the rhythm of its matches. Football has the power to bring the inhabitants of the Mediterranean together, even though each culture has reappropriated the codes of the round ball over the years. Football is a complex sport with a rich history. It is this common vector of the enclosed sea that Nous sommes Foot invites us to study more closely.

With Nous sommes Foot, the viewer won't have a minute to themselves! With over 400 works, objects, photos, installations, and videos drawn from the Mucem's collections as well as those of other museums, football federations, and some private collections, the exhibition promises an enriching and unforgettable experience. It is a magnificent tribute that the Mucem wishes to pay to football and the popular culture that surrounds it. And Marseille (promoted European Capital of Sport in 2017) is the perfect city for that!
