Blagnac will host the next French table football championships

Blagnac will host the next French table football championships

On Saturday, June 10th and Sunday, June 11th, the city of Blagnac, a neighboring town of Toulouse, will host the French table football championships. The Pink City, which competed against five other French cities, will have the honor of hosting more than 200 players.

A two-part tournament, open to all players

French Table Football Championship Blagnac 2017

The competition will take place in two stages. The first part of the event will be reserved for licensed players, while the second will take the form of a table football tournament, primarily aimed at Blagnac residents. The championship will be organized by the Toulouse Table Football Club and will be held at the Blagnac ice rink. Maxime Blin, president of the TFT, explains:

This is very good news, as it gives us access to a 1,800 m2 room and a fully equipped cafeteria. Especially since it's difficult to find a room, as table football isn't yet recognized as an official sport. We sincerely thank the city of Blagnac for this loan.

A golden opportunity

The city of Blagnac has two table football clubs, which together have no fewer than 80 members. These are Toulouse Table Football and the Toulouse Table Football Association. Seeking sponsors to fund the event, the two clubs intend to take advantage of the French championships to develop table football in the department, as Maxime Blin explains:

With this event, we hope to develop recreational and competitive table football in Haute-Garonne. We recently opened a branch in the Pyrenees.

But such an undertaking is expensive. With equipment transport, trophies, and security, €5,000 is wiped out of the budget. Attention sponsors and patrons!
