More than 400 players are expected for this major event, which this year has benefited from the support of the Val d'Oise General Council, the manufacturer Bonzini, and Kozoom Production. As usual, the World Championship Series attracted players from all over the world (15 countries in total) who did not hesitate to register for this eagerly awaited table football match. More than 90 Bonzini B90 table football tables were requisitioned for the event. The 2014 World Championship Series promises to be colorful and electric!
Why is there such a craze for this #1 online table football competition? Quite simply because it's nothing less than the first stage of the 2014 World Table Soccer Championships. The stakes are high, and so is the pressure.
You know the drill: all participants must have their ITSF license and register within 7 days of the tournament start. No delays will be tolerated!
Similarly, no breach of sports attire will be tolerated. All participants must wear their national uniform for the duration of the World Championship Series and during the ceremonies. Be proud of your colors!
The registration fee is a flat rate of €130. A mere trifle considering the stakes and... the prizes! In addition to the immense satisfaction of victory (and the promise of many more), the winners will receive medals and trophies, as well as prizes ranging from €80 to €2,000.
There will be a new feature in the rules of the 2014 WCS. All Open Doubles will be played according to the Swiss System:
- Qualifications with a minimum of 5 matches. No need to finish a set to start the next set.
- 2 winning sets of 5 points.
- Players are prohibited from changing ends between sets
- No recovery time allowed between sets
- 2 timeouts allowed per match, and no longer per set.
- The top 48 teams qualify for the Open Doubles final
- The next 48 qualify for Group B, the others for Group C
