Our attacking techniques to beat your opponents at foosball or how to shoot at foosball?

The shot

Among the fundamentals, the "shot" is the foosball shot that you should know first. Simple to master (with a little practice, of course), it comes in several variations that open up new feint possibilities.

To take a shot, the ball is stopped in front of the midfielder. This player must be facing the left post of the opponent's goal. When an opportunity presents itself, you must pull the stick towards yourself. When the player is halfway across the goal, they must get ahead of the ball, turn around it, and then hit it towards the goal. A clean movement and powerful shot are essential for a guaranteed surprise effect!

Once you've mastered the straight shot, practice a cross-court shot. Much more dangerous for your opponent, the cross-court shot literally goes through the opposing guard... Foosball shots can be vicious; there's no rule against it!

The Push Shot

After the pull shot, there's... the push shot, yes! To succeed with a push shot, place the ball in a stopped position under the player in the middle. This time, the player must be facing the right post of the opponent's goal. When the time comes, push the crossbar, turn around, and then hit it with a sharp, precise blow.

The slings

The sling consists of passing to the player on the left or right, depending on whether it is executed as a pull or a push. To perform this pass, you must lift the player at the end of the throw to let him run towards the player in the middle. The latter catches the ball without controlling it and shoots immediately. Timing is the key to a quality goal!

The Sweep

Often used in attack, the sweep technique involves rolling the ball to the right and left, with or without the halfbar, quickly and repeatedly with the same player to build up speed and then shoot the ball. It's a technique that allows you to destabilize your opponent and surprise them with a fast ball in the hope of scoring a goal in the opposing half.

You can find many defensive techniques such as:

  • Beware of bad habits and poor posture that can work against you during your table football game! Opting for a natural and relaxed stance will help you counter and perform your techniques, whether basic or advanced, in the different phases of the game!
  • React to instinct by prioritizing observation of shots and the direction of the ball given to your opponent
  • Prioritize a non-static guard to always be in motion and have a better chance of stopping your opponents' shots. However, in the case of a guard, you shouldn't have a non-static guard either, but with the same rhythm, you'll take as long to react as if you were static.
  • ...
