Every player has their own type of ball! Depending on the model you play with (plastic, cork, composite), you can vary the spin and add more power to your shots. Here's a look at the different types of foosball balls and their characteristics.
The plastic foosball ball: for fun
Ultra-light, the plastic ball is the fastest of all. So much so that it sometimes becomes uncontrollable. It is often found on children's table football tables, with young players looking for entertainment rather than competition. However, in the hands of an experienced player, a plastic table football ball can prove formidable and become the bane of defenders. Another characteristic of plastic balls, and not the least: they do not deteriorate over time. It is therefore understandable why communities and busy public places equip their table football with this type of ball. Finally, plastic baby balls can replicate the feel of a real soccer ball, a significant advantage for enthusiasts.
The cork ball: for control
If you're looking for the foosball ball with the best control, you'll probably want to turn to a cork ball. Control, feint, hit, shoot: everything becomes easier with a cork ball. The only downside: durability. Raw cork tends to deteriorate with large holes and crevices that damage its surface to the point of rendering it unusable. Another option: white cork. Offering the same grip as raw cork, white cork is harder and therefore more resistant and durable. The white cork ball is a must-have that's often found in bars and cafes.
The composite ball: for champions
If you play foosball professionally or semi-professionally, opt for ITSF-approved balls made of yellow composite plastic. Easy to recognize thanks to their ITSF markings, these high-quality balls offer an excellent balance between power, control, and speed. They are also very durable and easy to clean.
